Raising The Roost

The week beginning with Monday March 12th through March 17th, Greg was out of school for Spring Break. He spent it working on The Roost along with Emery, his sons, Richard and Dale.

Big Work Day March 10, 2012

We had all our grandchicklets here but Riah most of Saturday March 10th while my sons and Grandpa worked to prepare the ground for the coop. Kassie, Emery, (The Tingey family was still in Price, Michelle was photo shooting a wedding and Audrey was at a BYU Ballroom Dance event), and I took the kids to the Church park across the street for a couple of hours and then later, we took them to Rock Canyon Elementary School to play on the playground there for another couple of hours. Here's the photos of this gorgeous day in the Sun.

Everything including an old sink was found under the pond....

Love at Home

Rich must have tilled the garden a dozen times this night.

With the waterfall rocks and pond cleared away and the ground smoothed out, Greg set the deck supports and leveled them. Next came the floor and the boys were happy to pose for pics on their own stage.

Lot Prep

I am attempting to chronicle the building of our chicken coop by Greg assisted by Emery, Richard, Michael, Ben, Dale, Cameron, and special assistants: Ethan, Lincoln, and Porter John. Dale and Greg planned a western motif for this upscale accomodation which I have dubbed "The Roost". The first chore was to pull out the lava rock waterfall and the fish pond to make way in the corner of our backyard for the luxury suites we have in mind.

The Hive

I feel like the "Queen of Quite a Lot". Our hive is busy, energetic, and noisy....all grandchildren at this time were 8 years and younger on Thanksgiving morning 2011 in the Orchard off of Locust Ave.
